GRP laminate design and engineering

Can We Use Fibreglass In The Public Sector?

public sector project tendering

Established for over 40 years, stuart:pease is a privately owned company with many years of experience working for local authorities and institutional clients within this demanding sector.

Having attained approval to ISO9001:2015 and with long-established policies in the fields of Equal Opportunity, Health & Safety and the Environment, stuart:pease would welcome the opportunity to tender for public sector or local authority council contracts.

Fibreglass Street furniture

GRP offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio, impact resistance and dimensional stability, which, combined with its weatherproofing and colour fastness, make it ideal for producing virtually zero maintenance street furniture such as benches, planters, litter bins, fencing or lighting poles.

Playground & skatepark equipment

Colour-fast, vandal-resistant and easy to clean, playground equipment can be manufactured in GRP laminate to replace existing elements or new installs, including; open spiral and straight or embankment slides.

GRP is also an ideal surfacing solution for wheeled sports equipment and stuart:pease is happy to manufacture and install surfaces for jump boxes, ramps, steps and trick boxes suitable for BMX, skateboards or roller blades.

Public water features

Typically this work includes on-site lining of all water-bearing components in GRP and manufacturing related items such as sump boxes.

Leisure installations

stuart:pease is experienced in fabricating rigid section water slides and swimming pool tank lining (see the leisure & entertainment section) for more information.

Fibreglass is also the material of choice for interior and exterior climbing walls. Manufactured as panels in the workshops (with a tru-grit surface finish to assist with grip), the wall is then assembled on-site by stuart:pease engineers.

Building refurbishment & repair

Councils are increasingly turning to GRP as the most cost-effective building material for refurbishing and repairing public buildings and facilities.

Statues and statuary

To counter the disturbingly common issue of metal theft, many Public Authorities have replaced their existing statues, plaques and memorials with exact GRP facsimiles.

Indistinguishable from bronze or other valuable materials from normal viewing distances, fibreglass also offers a much less expensive fabricating option for original works.
