Bandstand

A GRP Bandstand – supplied and fitted in Godalming, Surrey. All are made from class 0 fire retardant materials.

Bar Feature

This project was for a GRP ‘bar feature’. A quarter-pattern was made, along with the GRP mould and 4 off quarter-section products. The gel coat colour was a gold-fleck metallic, backed by class 0 fire retardant resin.

Bus and Coach components

The photos show the various stages involved in the development of the front end of a bus/coach i.e. the timber pattern, GRP production mould, finished products ready for delivery, and the finished, sprayed product on the vehicle.

Chemical Storage Tank

The inside face of the chemical storage tank is fabricated from a polypropylene celmar plastic lining, this is then backed by layers of GRP, and reinforced with steel box section to provide additional strength. The tank is approx. 18′-0″ long x 6′-6″ wide x 7′-0″ deep.

Chemical Tank Repairs

We have carried out work on GRP storage vessels/chemical tanks and other components nationwide. Some of this work may involve repairing a leaking tank, connection, or fitting new connections/manways. Chemical resins such as Atlac, Derakane or Dion will be utilised to suit the duty of the work.

Circular Trolley

The photos show the various stages required to manufacture a GRP trolley for use within the carpet manufacturing industry. A timber pattern is manufactured, then the GRP mould, and finally the product. The product is then finished with timber supports and castors for manoeuvrability.

Conveyor Covers

Timber patterns and GRP moulds were manufactured in-house. The products were made from a class 0 fire retardant material. The covers were used in the marine industry.

Electric Columns

A project recently completed at the newly built ‘General Electric, Safford’ factory. The requirement was for class 0 fire retardant translucent GRP columns to encase the steel support columns. The columns were designed to replicate the ‘insulator panels’ on a pylon. The GRP columns were then backlit with LED lighting to create the desired effect.

Health And Beauty Industry

The photos show how an inquiry progressed from a sketch on a sheet of timber to having a timber pattern and GRP mould manufactured (all made in-house), and a batch of products ready for delivery!

Impeller

The client supplied us with an ‘Impeller’ – weighing approx 500kg. We were asked to reproduce it in GRP to reduce the weight/make it easier to handle for trade shows and exhibitions.

On-Site Leisure Centre Repairs

We have undertaken on-site repairs/refurbishment on various areas (slides, rocks, plunge pool etc) at a number of leisure centres – some of them have not been the easiest of jobs for our engineers! Chemical resistant materials (gels and resins) were utilised to withstand the heated chlorine.

Planters

GRP planters supplied to office blocks in London, approx 1.5 metres cubed, class 0 fire retardant material, designed to contain approx 3,500kg in weight.

Pressure Pipe

Various sized GRP chemical resistant pressure pipes, designed to specific pressure ratings. The largest one on the photos is approx 2m in diameter x 5m long, with a flange thickness of approx 140mm.

Roof Covers And Enclosure

The photos show a number of GRP roof covers (4 covers/set) and a large enclosure (4m long x 2.5m wide x 2.5m high) supplied to a recycling plant.

Santas Sleigh

The brief was to create a ‘Santa’s Sleigh’ ride. The customer provided us with a model, a chassis and a drawing. The following photos show how the ride was created – we’ll let the photos tell the story!

Shop Fitting Panels

Swim Adventure Island

This project required the GRP lining of ‘pool rocks’ in a large leisure complex to provide a waterproof seal and an ‘aesthetically pleasing’ finish.

Swimming Pool

An old and damaged GRP lined swimming pool was repaired, suitably prepared/’keyed’, and a new GRP lining was applied. The GRP raw materials consisted of a chemical-resistant gel coat and an Isophthalic resin due to the ‘heated chlorine’ contents of the pool, which require specialist materials to ensure correct containment.
