A GRP Bandstand – supplied and fitted in Godalming, Surrey. All are made from class 0 fire retardant materials.

Bar Feature

This project was for a GRP ‘bar feature’. A quarter-pattern was made, along with the GRP mould and 4 off quarter-section products. The gel coat colour was a gold-fleck metallic, backed by class 0 fire retardant resin.

Bus and Coach components

Chemical Storage Tank

The inside face of the chemical storage tank is fabricated from a polypropylene celmar plastic lining, this is then backed by layers of GRP, and reinforced with steel box section to provide additional strength. The tank is approx. 18′-0″ long x 6′-6″ wide x 7′-0″ deep.

Chemical Tank Repairs

We have carried out work on GRP storage vessels/chemical tanks and other components nationwide. Some of this work may involve repairing a leaking tank, connection, or fitting new connections/manways. Chemical resins such as Atlac, Derakane or Dion will be utilised to suit the duty of the work.

Circular Trolley

The photos show the various stages required to manufacture a GRP trolley for use within the carpet manufacturing industry. A timber pattern is manufactured, then the GRP mould, and finally the product. The product is then finished with timber supports and castors for manoeuvrability.

Electric Columns

A project recently completed at the newly built ‘General Electric, Safford’ factory. The requirement was for class 0 fire retardant translucent GRP columns to encase the steel support columns. The columns were designed to replicate the ‘insulator panels’ on a pylon. The GRP columns were then backlit with LED lighting to create the desired effect.

This project required the GRP lining of ‘pool rocks’ in a large leisure complex to provide a waterproof seal and an ‘aesthetically pleasing’ finish.

Swimming Pool

An old and damaged GRP lined swimming pool was repaired, suitably prepared/’keyed’, and a new GRP lining was applied. The GRP raw materials consisted of a chemical-resistant gel coat and an Isophthalic resin due to the ‘heated chlorine’ contents of the pool, which require specialist materials to ensure correct containment.
